The dutch band Faerydae (meaning “gift of the faeries”) consists of Jerina Welgraven (clarinet and various wind-instruments), Anouk Platenkamp (harp) and Patrick Lieffers (didgeridoo and percussion). They found each other while busking, discovering a mutual love for traditional music.
Faerydae’s music has firm roots in folk, giving it a new sound by the use of the instruments and uncommon rhythms.
They made their debut at castle Doornenburg in September 2009, where the music fitted nicely in with the medieval surroundings.
A new challenge awaits at the St. Stevenskerk in Nijmegen, where Faerydae will be performing as support act of Arcana and Deleyaman.
Jerina started playing the clarinet at the age of 8, and got her degree in 2008 at the conservatory of Arnhem.
Anouk has played the harp since she was 10, getting her degree at the conservatory of Maastricht in 2002.
Patrick took up the didge in 1992 after a stay in Australia, learning from the worlds foremost players.
